The purpose of the fundraising project is to improve the sanitation/toilet situation in the small marginalised and impoverished Village of Jitpur, Nepal.
60% of the families in this small village DO NOT have access to a toilet in their homes. This in itself means 80% of sickness is aused by contaminated water and poor sanitation. Every year, approximately 13,000 children under the age of five die from disease in this small country.
The fund raising is being carried out under the banner of Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN), a non-religious, non-political, non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation.
The four major projects of the organisation are Women's Empowerment Program, Children's Development Program, Youth Development Program and the Community Health Program, all very worthy causes to ensure the sustainability of future generations.
Namaste - and thank you for helping to build toilets in our homes.
